You must a valid proof have shown my mind

You must a valid proof have shown my mind,
For it seems ending’s something I can’t choose.
We’re not quite functioning, and yet I find
Our possibility’s too great to lose.

Indebted, certainly, I am to you
For helping ease my blues this half a year.
If you still care, then I can see this through
And learn how to return the favor, dear.

No matter what the trouble here may be,
Always know less of you I’ll never think.
I hope I’ll help you as you did with me
And then return my pen to happy ink.

So though, of course, I’d love to have your time,
Just do your best, and know my heart is thine.

Packages

My brown paper packages
Tied up with string,
They used to be piled high, a
Solid building
In which I could camp out and,
Toiling, sing
Of joy that comes only as
Dreams you’re reaching

Was it fire or floodwater,
Hurricane or hail
That toppled my boxes,
Untied them and spilled -
I can’t even say now what
Contents they held.
I knew they were precious,
But not they were frail.
